Introduction
Karmasphere Studio for Hadoop is a
MapReduce
development environment (IDE) based on NetBeans. It enables you to rapidly prototype MapReduce jobs without the need for a cluster, and to deploy, monitor and debug jobs on Hadoop clusters or Amazon Elastic MapReduce clusters, all from within a graphical desktop IDE.
Karmasphere Studio's Job Developer lets you:
- Prototype your job/s quickly on the desktop, without the need for a cluster.
- Visualize and manipulate your job development as a graphical workflow.
- Get realtime view of inputs, outputs and intermediate results including map, partition, sort and reduce phases.
- Deploy your job through the Job Manager or as a .jar file indepedently.
Karmasphere Studio's Job Manager lets you:
- Deploy easily to a remote cluster, in your own data center or the cloud.
- Manage your clusters, file systems and job configuration in one place
- Communicate with Hadoop clusters through firewalls.
- Monitor and analyze your clusters, job and tasks in real-time.
- View and chart job and task counters.
- Use HDFS and Amazon S3 file systems.
